Kijiji Solutions is being recognized as an organization that get things done!

To this end, the Chief of Gatwekera Village, Nehemia Amwocha, has suggested that Kijiji's approach become a model for upgrading washrooms elsewhere in Kibera. Chief Amwocha has proposed that his office, part of Kenya's national government, join Kijiji Solutions in applying for international grants to replicate our current work.

FUNDRAISER: Devastating floods hit Kenya, including communities in Kibera

​

We dedicate this fundraiser to Ashley Adiamo 6, who, along with her mother Millicent Apondi, was swept away and killed by raging waters during the recent floods in Kenya. Ashley was in a feeding program sponsored by Kijiji Team member Tyson Omondi, one of Kijiji's heroes.

We are very sad to announce that the devastating floods in Kenya have also affected the communities served by Kijiji Solutions.

​

With your help, we hope to provide relief to our friends who have lost everything. Donations will help replace clothing, bedding, household necessities, medicine, and of course provide food.

Kijiji Solutions is offering Kijiji Houses One and Two as temporary housing to displaced families.

Kijiji Solutions holds photo and video workshop for members of community-based organizations and self-help groups.

To improve communications and story telling skills, Kijiji Solutions sponsored a workshop for members of CBOs and SHGs who regularly interact with regional officials and the media.

​

Held by Soka Samaritan Initiative, the workshop covered how to compose editorial style images, and photo enhancements.

Founder and Executive Director Richard Haukom stayed in the heart of Kibera for an extended visit.

​

This experience established understanding and trust and strengthened existing and new relationships with community leaders and locally active groups.
